MACD Committee Descriptions
Membership & Benefits Committee (high need for members!)
The committee will work with the Communications & Marketing Committee to educate career development practitioners on the benefits of being a member of MACD. They identify and implement promotional activities that heighten awareness around the benefits of membership and encourage practitioners to join and become engaged. They will process membership applications, issue membership cards, and maintain our membership list. In addition, they will also be tasked with updating our membership application, membership benefits form, and membership policy as needed. They will also strategize ways to grow and diversity our membership.
Communication & Marketing Committee (high need for members!)
The committee works with the board to develop an overall marketing a communication strategy for Manitoba Association for Career Development (MACD) and implements the agreed upon plan. They will also work with subcommittees to determine marketing and communication needs, develop a plan and implement. Individuals should be tech savvy and have a working knowledge of various social media platforms.
Professional Development
This committee will organize 5 professional development opportunities for the membership of MACD within the budget approved by the MACD Board. Where possible sessions should reflect training MACD members have identified. They will also be tasked with identifying and using technology to engage Career Development Professionals from across the Province to participate in these events.
Let's Get to Work Committee
The committee will be tasked to organize our annual career development conference. The conference is focused on providing a solutions-focused space where the intersections between career development, employment, and education can be explored and a greater sense of shared responsibility can be found. The committee will work within the budget approved by the MACD board. They are responsible for all conference logistics included but not limited to the identification and selection of the keynote speakers, breakout presenters, and food, audio and video and all contractual agreements associated with the event.
